The Stone Age Caveman Diet
- Dinosaur Diet - How to Grow
Sprouts
-
Sprouts are very easy to grow and
make a wonderful, tasty, low calorie to any diet. Sprouts
are very popular with Raw Dieters - but can be enjoyed by most anyone.
For small seeds, use
a moistened paper towel; sprinkle seeds on towel and keep in a dark
place to allow sprouting to ensue. Be certain to keep seeds
moist but not soaked.
Begin with a wide-mouth
quart-sized jar so that your sprouts will have room to sprout and
be easy to remove. Be sure that your jar is clean, then add
a quarter cup of seeds to the bottom of the jar. Do not overfill.
Seeds should just cover the bottom of the jar comfortably..
Add twice as much water
to the jar as you did seeds. Place cheesecloth over the top
of the jar and secure with a large rubber band. (Be careful
not to get boinged by the rubber band.) Allow seeds to soak
for about 8 to 12 hours, or until seeds are softened. Smaller
seeds will require the lesser time; larger seeds, the longer time.
Drain off all water
and carefully rinse your softened seeds. Next, recover the
jar, then turn sideways so that the seeds lay along the length of
the jar rather than at the bottom. Place jar in a dark area
that is about 70 degrees in temperature. Do not place in sunlight
which works to create a bitter mix of sprouts.
Allow seeds to sprout
and rinse often, about 3 times per day (to prevent fermentation
of the sprouts) until they reach the desired length. Serve
in sandwiches, salads and can be enjoyed alone!
