The Stone Age Caveman Diet
The
First Diet - The Cradle of Diet Civilization
What was the first diet
of man like? When pondering the first
diet of man, one must equivocally be drawn to the roots of civilization
- literally. Roots were one of the super foods for nomadic
tribesman and cavemen alike. Roots were readily available,
plentiful, health-wise and versatile because different roots took
root during specific seasons of the year.
Milk was another precious staple
when dieting was in the Fetus Stage of Life on Earth. Centuries
later, and the Modern Diet World has finally crowned milk as one
of the basic necessities in the diet and has fully recognized its
worth in controlling weight.
Eggs - from ostrich eggs to snake
eggs, eggs were an important staple in the Old World. And who cared
about getting heart disease when you would probably end up getting
gobbled up by a dinosaur before you reached that mid-life crisis
stage?
Early
man spent much of the time searching for edible foods such as berries,
nuts, fruits and greenery. All that running about for miles
on end without the benefit of proper name brand sneakers amidst
quicksand, crawling vipers and poison ivy must have been a living
nightmare with no Freddy in sight.
On the bright side, the heightened
activity level burned calories like a match on dry hay, allowing
early man to consume a high amount of calories.
However, the foods available
during this era contained few calories at best. No cheesecake,
no chocolate cakes and no banana pie until the cave baby squished
up a banana and accidentally dropped it into a coconut bowl of milk.
And that's why they call it the cradle of Diet Civilization....
